Wonderfully Made: A women’s brunch celebrating life and God’s design.

Saturday, November 22 | 10:00 AM | Luverne CRC

Speaker: Sarah De Jong

You’re invited to a morning that celebrates the beauty of life and God’s design.

Join us for brunch, fellowship, and an inspiring message from Sarah De Jong, who will share about the sanctity of life and the incredible value of children with Down syndrome.

We will also hear about Jack’s Basket, a Minnesota-based ministry that celebrates these precious babies and provides love and support to their families.

Help us collect items to fill a Jack’s Basket! Ways you can contribute:

If you love to sew, knit, or crochet, consider crafting for the babies. These are the items needed:

    • Burp Cloths
    • Bibs
    • Hats (Sizes: 0-3 months)
    • Booties (Sizes: 0-3 months)

Please note: Blankets are no longer accepted unless they are sized at 14 x 17 inches.

Materials: fabrics/yarns that are soft and washable such as cotton, cotton-blend, flannel, or knit

Colors, prints, and patterns: Baby specific or appropriate (please avoid the “mature” florals, paisleys, non-baby prints, or dark colors)

*All items need to be clean, new, and free of scents or animal hair.

    • You can purchase and bring in items from Jack’s Basket’s Amazon Wishlist (link below)
    • You can write a message in a ‘Congratulations’ card that we will provide at the event

All donated items and handwritten cards will be used to create a “Jack’s Basket” to bless a family. Please have items at church by December 7, 2025.

Bring your friends and join us for a time of encouragement as we celebrate the truth that every life is wonderfully made! Brunch will be provided. Sign up is not required, but helpful.

MEET SARAH DE JONG

Sarah De Jong and her husband of 21 years live on an acreage in NW Iowa. She leads a busy life as a military wife, a mother to 6 children, and a photographer. She loves to camp, bow fish, renovate her home and campers, and she enjoys many outdoor activities. She is passionate about advocating for her 3 kids with special needs, and she strives to inspire others to protect the most vulnerable among us and to courageously pursue special needs adoption.

Jack’s Basket is a nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate babies with Down syndrome. We strive to ensure that every new and expectant parent is provided resources and avenues of support within the community. We aim to equip medical providers with tools to discuss the diagnosis in an unbiased way in hopes that having a baby with Down syndrome is celebrated like any other.

JACK’S BASKET MISSION

We support families from the time of diagnosis to the baby’s 1st birthday. We do this by focusing on three primary activities:

Engaging and equipping medical providers with tools to communicate and discuss Down syndrome accurately without bias.

Connecting new parents with other families and resources through our basket delivery program.

Sharing powerful stories to change the narrative around Down syndrome.
